The house looks beautiful, hiply decorated, contact with the nice owner from a distance was quick and good.
There was a fan that did not work, so it was extremely warm in the house. We asked the owner if he could arrange a fan and he immediately responded that we could buy one at his expense, so that was really nice.
The house is located very far outside Watamu. You always need a tuk tuk or boda to get around. The boy who lives on site couldn't help us with this, so we tried something via Uber and on the street. The house was not completely clean. The kitchen was dirty and in the shower there were old shampoo bottles that had been there for a while. Watamu has an extremely high number of power outages, of course the owner cannot do anything about that. But you are far from civilization without electricity, and therefore no fan or air conditioning. That's very annoying. They do have solar energy to always charge your phone and the WiFi also worked, but the refrigerator did not and we were there for three days before the boy on site even explained this to us (the owner had encouraged this). As mentioned, the house is located far away from the locals. We thought that was a lot of fun, but unfortunately this resulted in constant nuisance from music (with heavy bass) and shouting from neighbors. There is also a dog kennel right next to it. The dogs regularly bark and howl very loudly, even at night. The boy who lives on the property also hangs around there all the time. So when you chill on the couches on the porch, he looks at you the whole time. Quite uncomfortable...
Too bad, the house looks nice, but I don't recommend it if you come for rest and relaxation.
